Introduction, Rules and Workshop Safety
Location
Our woodshop is located at 2821 M-50, Tipton, Michigan. We occupy the tall barn, called Kalle’s - (pronounced “Gull-eh-s”) Woodshop) in the southwest corner of the property and the south half of the long, low barn, which is along the western edge of the property.
Eligibility
All active duty members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard or Space Force, or veterans of those services, are welcome. Proof of active duty or veteran status is required and can be satisfied by a Military ID, a Driver’s License with a “Veteran” endorsement, or a DD-214. Copies will be maintained but you can redact information you don’t want maintained, except that pertaining to the active duty or veteran status.
Hours
THE SHOP IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. ONCE OPEN THE FOLLOWING WILL APPLY:
Our open shop hours are 8 AM to 5 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, except national holidays. We are also open for training and other special events on an add needed basis.
Safety
Everyone’s safety is a paramount concern for us. Before using any tools or machinery each veteran must take the Safety Course. The Safety Course is given in Kalle’s Woodshop at 10 AM on the first Saturday of each month. Any veteran is welcome to show up and take the safety course. There is a brief test at the end of the course. The answers are all in our Safety Manual. Click here to view our Safety Manual.
